Joseph F. Ricker 1912

This Joseph F. Ricker double bass had been stored in an unheated cabin for 25 years in northern Michigan. I regret having to strip and varnish this bass, however, the original varnish was flaking and peeling off of the instrument. I think the results were worth the loss of the original varnish, evidenced by the stunning wood grain pattern on the back.
