L. Puentes German Bass

This bass came to me, literally, in pieces. The owner carried it around this way for nine years -- traveling from Caracas, Venezuela -- before it reached my shop. The bass needed a complete restoration: rebuilding the entire back with new cross braces, neck graft, top pressing with new bass bar, new end block, complete varnish, and more ....

The succession of photos you see below start with how the bass arrived at my shop and progresses through the restoration and complete revarnishing.

Read the owner's story about his bass.
