The Shen SB200 Willow 3/4 Flatback is a fully carved, solid wood Shen bass that offers a wonderful rich tone and is finished in a beautiful hand applied dark amber oil varnish at a very reasonable price. The combination of the willow ribs and willow flatback impart a dark tone to the bass, while the nicely arched spruce top, and maple neck and scroll, add to the classic focused sound. Ease of playability is achieved due to the comfortably sized 3/4 gamba shaped body. The flat back adds a distinct ‘punch’ to the sound that projects the dark tone extremely well for both classical and jazz bassists.
